About Our Conductor
Mary Bauer joined the Milton Community Band as Music Director in 2008. She is currently Director of Instrumental Music at Mt. Mansfield Union High School where she teaches concert band, wind ensemble, string ensemble, jazz band, piano and guitar.
Mary lives in Underhill Center with her children Avi and Andrew and has been a music educator since 1998. Previously she directed music at Williamstown Middle High School in Central Vermont. Mary is a graduate of the Crane School of Music, Potsdam, NY with a music education-performance degree concentrating in clarinet.
She also performs/solos with many local groups, including as a vocalist with Bella Voce. Mary was the Winooski Valley guest conductor for the high school band in the fall of 2003 and 2007, and has conducted many high school musicals in the area, as well as the Barre Players' productions of Cinderella and Once upon a Mattress.
