picture of Mary Bauer

Mary Bauer joined the Milton Community Band as Music Director in 2008. Mary lives in Jericho with her husband Adam and two children Avi (7 and 1/2) years old) and Andrew (5 years old). She is in her tenth year of teaching music, her fourth year at Mount Mansfield Union High School. Her first six years were at Williamstown Middle High School in Central Vermont. At Mount Mansfield, she teaches concert band, wind ensemble, string ensemble, jazz band, piano and guitar. Mary graduated from the Crane School of Music, Potsdam with her music education-performance degree concentrating in clarinet. Ms. Bauer performed regularly on clarinet with the Vermont Wind Ensemble for six years, and for three years with the women's choir Bella Voce. She performs/solos with many other local groups. Mary was the Winooski Valley guest conductor for the high school band in the fall of 2003 and 2007, and has conducted many high school musicals in the area, as well as the Barre Players' productions of Cinderella and Once Upon a Mattress. She is so excited to be a part of a wonderful music community here in Vermont. Music is her life and she wants to give to the students and community what her music educators gave to her in Long Island, New York.
